Imagine attending a 10 course-dinner that hosts 21 executive chefs from 20 of Thailand’s most prestigious five-star hotels and one from Thai Airways International. Does your mouth begin to water with the thought of all the delicious delicacies and exciting flavors you might experience? Well ours certainly did when we found out we had been invited to The Bangkok Chefs Gala Dinner scheduled for the 18th of July 2016.

The charity dinner is an evening featuring only the finest chefs from the Big Mango and will be graced by none other than Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in the Royal Ballroom of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.

This annual talk of the town gastronomic feast was initially launched in 2009 by General Managers Nuntiya and Patcharin Hame-ung-gull of Gourmet One, importer and supplier of fine foods. Taking advantage of their contacts and connections, the two sisters came up with this fundraiser idea to give back to society as well as showcase the quality, creativity and distinct style of Bangkok’s finest food & beverage professionals.

Past charities have raised more than 15 million Baht and have allowed impoverished children around Thailand to enjoy scholarships, educational equipment, food, and children’s playground equipment. Part of this year’s proceeds will benefit Border Patrol Police Schools under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness; and the remaining funds will go towards improvements in the livelihood and education of underprivileged children in the remote Omkoy district in Chiang Mai. So not only does the event feature some of the most mouth-watering dishes Bangkok has to offer but it also helps those in need. This event couldn’t get much better right? But wait, it does. All fruits and vegetables used for the event are organically grown and each of the 21 executive chefs will be accompanied by young children who aspire to be chefs as well. Of course we will keep you updated on all the details of the event. But for now… Bon appétit!
