For Coco her adventure with Jazz started at the age of seven, after attending her first concert to see Rufus, featuring Chaka Khan. Since then she has been pouring out her own special blend of music for audiences around the world. And now, her beautiful voice and unforgettable interpretations will grace the evenings at Bangkok’s Sukhothai hotel.

Coco’s career spanning over 20 years took her far and wide. There was the memorable performance at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York City, where Coco entered into the legendary “Amateur Night at the Apollo”, a talent competition where many of the legends of jazz and soul music made a name for themselves, including the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Jimi Hendrix. There were many other talent competitions and pageants, including what was maybe the biggest pageant of her lifetime – at Miss H.D. Woodson Sr. High School, where she was crowned in 1984, and never looked back.

Through the performances with the Concert Choir in Jr. High School and those at New York’s famous cabaret venue Don’t Tell Mama Cabaret & Piano Bar, where she was trained by the legendary Sidney Meyer, she built a special relationship with her audience….and jazz. It’s in New York that she became the lead female vocalist with The Jerry Kravat NY Orchestra (Tribeca Rhythm) and performed for New York’s hi-so gatherings in Manhattan’s most prestigious venues.

But that was then and this is now. Since January 26 Coco performs at The Sukhothai hotel’s Zuk bar. Her performances take place on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, every hour from 8 pm as well as during the Sunday Brunch. She is joined on stage by the Sukhothai’s resident Philipino 3-piece band, that consists of bass, guitar and piano.

“I am so grateful for a life full of music, so extremely blessed to be able to sing,” says Coco. “And what better way to discover Bangkok than by staying at The Sukhothai! I’ll be close to everything, and locals and travelers alike will be near enough to experience my special brew of jazz, bossa nova, soul – and lots of love!” she adds.

We agree, what better way to discover Bangkok that with a world class soundtrack in a world class hotel.
